I really wanted to like this book. The storyline intrigued me and after reading some reviews I thought for sure I would enjoy it. Normally a book takes me anywhere from a day to three days to read. This book literally took me weeks to get through... why not just throw in the towel you may ask? Believe me I kept asking myself the same thing. I was just hoping that at some point there would be some redeeming qualities. I'm not one to do spoilers so will be trying my best to be as vague as possible. I dislike reviewing a book I didn't care for.. after all it takes so much in a person to sit down and write their story in the hopes that others will enjoy it.
Lily was just a little too much for me. Underlying issues that she struggled with but the "cause" of this phobia just never made sense to me. As extreme as it was it just didn't quite add up. And to get to the point where the manwhore "healed" her with really very little effort?!?! Every hobby, interest and likes that men could possibly have was all wrapped up in this little perfect package of a girl. (Eye roll)
Nikoli was simple enough. Confident and pushy but with a sweet side. But of course as Lily was made up of every guys wet dream the same was for him. Wasn't enough that he was this man who ran through woman like a kid with a bag full of skittles. It wasn't until the very end that you find out why he was such a manwhore.. and even that didn't make all that much sense with how he was portrayed throughout the book.. it actually made him out to be a complete ass instead... and if I was Lily and heard his reasoning as to why he was distrustful would of turned my back on him right then... but then again..he really didn't explain to her why either.. he was heartbroken before.. yep.. that's it.. nothing more nothing less explained to her and she immediately forgave..after what he put her through? After so much time passing.. uh.. ok..
I just didn't see the chemistry. Let's not forget that Lily was adored by all... in with the the entire football team who would do anything for her...tutored them all including Nikolis own roommate but never once did he lay eyes on her in 3 years of them going to school together? Like there wasn't enough obstacles they had to jump over.. the author must of thought it wasn't enough so had to throw one last trauma their way... a bit over the top..and ridiculous I might add...
Most of all... I would have to read..re-read.. and read again to figure out who's talking.. who's thinking.. who's doing what.. one sentence is Lily..the next it's Nikoli and who again were they talking about? It was completely confusing at times. I like to get lost in a book. Read the words and imagine the scene in my head. When you are reading and have to grind to a halt to figure out who's staying or doing what.. its just impossible to get wrapped up in.
Overall.. I think with a bit sharpening of the story and not trying to push so much in one book.. this could of been pretty great.
Since this was my first book by this author..This particular one will not stop me from trying out another one of the her books. I see great potential storylines as long as they're not all poured into one book like this one.

Touch Me Not is a really great read. Lily Holmes' a senior at Boston University and she's ready to finish college and move on to the next chapter of her life in New York at a literary agency. That's when Nikoli Kinkaid plows into her life. He's the manwhore of Boston University. He doesn't have relationships or date, he has sex with each woman only once and then he's on to the next. On move in day that's when he spots her. She's hanging out with Adam and other football players and he sets his sights on her. She, on the other hand, knows exactly who Nikoli is and his reputation.

Lily's a strong and independent woman that cannot stand being touched. A tragedy in her past has caused her to close herself off in some ways. She's been in love with her best friend Adam for years and she has to watch him and his fiancee Sue plan their wedding. She was hoping to get a fresh start by going to college in Boston. But Adam followed her there so now she's looking forward to moving to New York City and finally getting that fresh start. She wasn't expecting Nikoli to walk into her life and be everywhere. There is so much to Lilly. She grew up with a father that was a famous in Nascar before his death. He died in a car accident when she was a teenager. She grew up loving to go to the races and work under the hood of cars.

Nikoli's a senior at Boston University as well. When he graduates, he and Luther plan to move to New York City and set up their corporate offices. Luther and Nikoli own a gaming company and they have some serious money but they keep that to themselves. Nikoli's from Russia where his parents still are and he has five brothers that are all over the United States. They moved to the United States when Nikoli was fourteen. He realizes that there is so much more to Lilly than he ever thought.

Definitely worth reading.

Let me back up.

Lily Holmes has a fear of being touched.

Even a gentle touch on any part of her body other than her own sent her into full panic mode. Reasons are explained in the story, so read the book to find out more.

Lily is also in love with her best friend, Adam, who is planning his wedding to Suzie the hoe-bag (oops, did I say that?).

Enter, NIKOLAI. MOTHEREFFING. MANWHORE. KINCAID.

His name alone oozes HOTNESS and I was prepared to hate this self-proclaimed women connoisseur. But alas, I'm sitting her batting my eyelashes at a fictional college student (gulp).

Okay, so Nik wants Lily. Every warns him to keep his man-slut hands off of her, but he's determined to the the untouchable Lily in his bed.

But what Nik was not prepared for was for Lily to want absolutely nada to do with him. This hurt his ego. Made him questioned his game. But damnit it all to hell if he wasn't loving the challenge.

Nik notices Lily's fears of being touched.
Nik notices Lily's love for Adam.
Nik places a bet - he'll help her get over her fear of being touched, all him to seduce her and get her "man".

Of course, there are other wagers and bets made that I was pretty sure both would lose.

I was preparing myself to scream, yell and shout about who Lily would choose. (view spoiler)

But Lily had a sick feeling that the love was unrequited. She knew Nik's reputation would never allow him to commit to just one woman.

And my, my, my...Nik. The way he helped Lily overcome her fears, her phobias...I wanted to become his own personal Ellie (read the book, and you'll know what I'm talking about).

Everything about this story was just superb. The characters, the back stories, the banters, the maturity level of our H and h. The buildup of the main characters' relationships. It was all so real and relatable. There was honestly nothing farfetched in the story that had me sighing or rolling my eyes.

I divulged this story. I'm still sitting here with a big grin on my face.

I am HOOKED to this series (yes, it's the first book but I don't care) and I cannot wait for more!!
